Não, meu caro amigo. Mas é algo tão bom quanto.
Black Label Society é uma banda de heavy metal criada por Zakk Wylde, também guitarrista de Ozzy Osbourne. Só dessa introdução que a wikipedia dá, já imaginamos que, caso você goste de Ozzy, ai vem coisa boa.
Mas o som do BLS é bem diferente do som do nosso vovô Ozzy Osbourne. O Zakk Wylde é um monstro, beberrão e motociclista. Agora, imaginem que um monstro beberrão, as vezes, quer fazer músicas ao seu modo. Conclusão, imaginem as guitarras de Ozzy, com uma base mais distorcida e pesada e uma voz bem grave. Esse é mais ou menos o som do BLS. Lembra um pouco o Pantera (banda qual Zakk tinha grande amizade com o falecido guitarrista Dimebag Darrel), mas menos agressivo e mais bêbado. Completamente bêbado.
O mais interessante da banda é que eles conseguem mesclar baladas açucaradas (Queen of Sorrow, do açucarado Hangover Music Vol. VI – numa breve tradução: Música de ressaca) com porradas de peso e qualidade incríveis (Stronger than Death, do álbum homônimo).
Fizeram um show no Brasil em 2008, abrindo para o vovô Ozzy Osbourne e para o Korn. Mas, na minha opinião, roubaram a noite. A presença de placo do Zakk é marcante. Coisa fina. O som da banda ao vivo é mais agressivo, perfeitamente tocado. Afinal, já tiveram como baixistas Mike Inez (Alice in Chains) e Robert Trujillo (ex-Suicidal Tendencies, Ozzy Osbourne e atualmente no Metallica). Esses caras não topariam tocar com qualquer um!
Se você nunca ouviu falar e pretende começar a ouvir, recomendo fortemente começar pela música Stillborn (link no fim do post), gravada em parceira com o vovô Ozzy. Depois, ouça o primeiro álbum, Sonic Brew e depois o Blessed Hellride. Depois veja o clipe In this river, onde Zakk faz uma homenagem ao seu eterno amigo Dimebag Darrel (Pantera).
Resumindo? Caras, Black Label Society cai muito bem em uma viagem de carro ou um porre com amigos. Se você está afim de ouvir um som pesado e bem tocado, recomendo fortemente BLS. É um metal bem tocado, beliscando o heavy, o metalcore e o rock and roll porcão!
